Description and uses

Sealer BV 64 is an acrylic base concrete sealer designed for finishing new interior or exterior

concrete. It is also a durable sealer and finish coat for refurbishing older coloured, chemically

stained, or uncoloured concrete flatwork. It gives the surface an attractive appearance and

enhance depth of colour while offering an easy-to-maintain, semi-gloss finish and added resistance to staining.

As a sealer and finish coating, Sealer BV 64 is helped in preventing concrete dusting and reduces

surfaces staining from materials such as automotive grease, oil and food spills. It produces a

low-maintenance, easy-to-clean film, resistant to abrasion, weather and ultraviolet (UV) radiation.

Warehouse, factory and many other interior coloured or uncoloured concrete floors should

normally be sealed to protect the concrete surface and facilities clean up.

Recommended for :-

- Concrete floor

- Textured concrete floor

      - Coloured concrete floor

      - Brick walls

      - Slates

      - Sandstone

Coverage

Sealer BV 64 must be applied full strength without thinning by roller, airless sprayer or by brush. The

coverage will very depending on the method of application and the porosity and texture of the concrete.

Two thin coats are recommended for new uncoated concrete. One coat is usually sufficient on

concrete preciously coated with Sealer BV 64. As a general rule of tumb, an 18 litre tin covers

approximately 60m2 – 70m2.

Preparation

Before application, the concrete surface must be clean of all dirt, oil and grease. Coatings and curing

membranes, other than previously applied Sealer BV 64, must be stripped. Failure to remove all

contaminants and coatings will cause appearance defects, adhesion loss, peel, and reduced durability.

All washed or wet areas should be allowed to dry thoroughly before application of Sealer BV 64.

Application

The coating must be applied thinly and uniformly. Immediately prior to use, the liquid materials should

be thoroughly mixed. Application of two coats id recommended. The second coat should be applied after

the first coat is completely dry, a minimum of 4 hours. Sealer BV 64 must be allowed to dry completely,

normally a minimum of 12 hours after application of the second coat. Finished surface should be protected

from damage by other trades.

occur. Dirt may be hosed off with water. On area subject to heavy use or more severe conditions,

periodic general cleaning should be performed using a high-quality commercial detergent and automatic

scrubber equipment.

A maintenance application of Sealer BV 64 should be made periodically as the coating is worn off

the surface. The need for maintenance coating will be accelerated in area of heavy use.

It is not necessary to strip the previously applied coating unless film build up is heavy of the surface

cannot be cleaned sufficiency. Solvent can be applied to remove existing Sealer BV 64.

Limitation

Sealer BV 64 must only be used in thin coats on surface adequately textured for slip resistance unless

improperly or too heavily, the surface may whiten, peel, or become slippers, particulars on pool decks

or other area where water may collect and stand on the surface.

Sealer BV 64 is a premium-quality sealer and finish coating, but like allcoatings, will require periodic

maintenance and reapplication. Spills should be removed promptly and floors cleaned regularly to

minimize possible staining and damage to the finish coat.
